Cruising on the elegant Luang Say boat, a 34-meter traditional-style riverboat, your 3-day Laos tour will be punctuated by excursions to hill tribe villages and unusual caves with overnights in a serene town and nature lodge.
Your river journey begins in Huay Xai, a small town tucked in the Thai-Lao border. Take in the rustic sights as you glide along the Mekong currents, first making a stop at a hill tribe village before continuing to Pakbeng, a sleepy town situated halfway between Huay Xai and Luang Prabang. Take some time to relax and enjoy a romantic sunset in this tranquil riverside town.
Traversing deeper into the pristine wilderness of northern Laos, the second leg of this Laos package tour takes you to Kamu Lodge, nestled in the heart of a lush jungle by the riverbank. An overnight stay at the lodge offers a charming interlude to river cruising. You will have time to experience the local lifestyles from the wide array of activities available, ranging from rice planting in the paddy fields to forest hiking in search of indigenous herbs.
Sailing further downstream, we will bring you to Ban Baw village to discover Lao whiskey production and to Pak Ou Caves, a popular pilgrimage site that contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of varying sizes. Two hours from Pak Ou Caves, you will finally arrive in Luang Prabang where your cruise journey ends.
