Adventurous Luang Prabang - 4 Days / 3 Nights
Luang Prabang - Ban Had Kham - Pak Ou - Ban Xang Hai - Kuang Si Waterfalls
Our four-day Adventurous Luang Prabang Laos tour takes you beyond the tourist sites and into the town's spectacular surroundings for an adrenaline-pumping holiday. Trekking, kayaking and elephant riding are the ideal way to explore the nearby rivers and mountains, hilltribe villages and cascading waterfalls.
Drive north of Luang Prabang to Khmu village of Ban Houaleung, where your Laos tour begins with a day of kayaking the Nam Ou River. Under the guidance of a paddling guide, glide downriver through several sets of easy rapids. Stop to swim in the refreshing waters, tuck into lunch on a white sandbank and soak in the beautiful scenery.
A night spent at a local homestay offers the chance to experience rural Lao life firsthand. Pull your boats ashore and hike up to a village inhabited by a lowland hilltribe for a night with the friendly locals. Learn about their culture and traditions as you dine and interact with your host family.
A second day of kayaking takes you to where the Nam Ou spills out into the magnificent Meknog River. A visit to the Pak Ou caves and nearby villages provides a respite before continuing to Luang Prabang for the evening.
Using Luang Prabang as a base, the second half of your Laos package tour explores the forests and jungles of the area. A ride on the back of an elephant takes you to cascading Tad Sae waterfall for lunch followed by a short trek to a Khmu village. Then bike through the countryside to discover Hmong villages and the Kuang Si waterfalls.
